End cooperation between Israeli and Hackney police

The Issue

On 18th May, Hackney Police tweeted “today we were delighted to welcome a delegation from Israeli police. ... The delegation went out on patrol” with a local policing team. This happened less than a week after Israeli police violently attacked mourners at the funeral of Palestinian-American journalist Shireen Abu Akleh. Israeli police routinely use armed violence against Palestinians in the context of Israel's apartheid rule. Whether it's tear gas, skunk water, or rubber bullets that maim, or live ammunition resulting in severe injury and death, Israeli apartheid police should be condemned for this violent repression, not welcomed in our streets.

We demand that there is no further cooperation of any kind between the Hackney and the Israeli police forces.
