Bullying has claimed another innocent life; someone very dear and special took their own life after suffering bullying at the hands of three to four girls for four long, agonizing years. This heartbreaking incident underscores the urgent need to address intolerance, cruelty, and the devastating consequences of bullying.

Research shows bullying victims are between 2 to 9 times more likely to consider suicide than non-victims (Yale University). Approximately 160,000 teens skip school every day due to bullying (National Education Association), while 1 in 6 students have seriously considered suicide in the last year (The Jason Foundation). None of us can stand idly by while bullying continues to ravage our communities and schools, causing irreversible damage to young lives.

We call on education and community leaders to take immediate, strong action against bullying. This should involve enhancing anti-bullying programs, focusing on empathy and kindness education, and providing better support for those affected by bullying.
