After a 4–7 season and a crushing loss to Duke, the University of North Carolina football program is once again without a bowl game. This time, it is costing millions. Hired with national headlines and sky-high hopes, Bill Belichick was expected to bring discipline, strategy, and long-term success to Chapel Hill.

Instead, UNC fans have watched a Hall of Fame coach deliver one of the most disappointing seasons in recent memory.

We are asking the UNC Athletic Department and Board of Trustees to take action. It is time to terminate Bill Belichick’s five-year, $10 million per year contract and begin the search for a leader who is ready to build, not coast.

UNC fans have shown up. Students have stayed loyal. But after 11 games of questionable decisions, media distractions, and an offense stuck in neutral, the program is clearly not moving forward.

This is not just about wins and losses. It is about value, trust, and the message UNC sends to its community. Coaching at the college level requires more than a resume. It requires vision, energy, and the ability to connect with young athletes. So far, this experiment has failed to deliver on any of those expectations.

We urge the university to protect its program, its athletes, and its reputation by ending the Belichick contract before more damage is done.
