There are over 75,000 homeless people across Los Angeles. Every day the homeless wonder where they are going to sleep, and its not hard to see why they're in this situation. The median rent in Los Angeles is around 3,500 dollars, thats 42,000 dollars a year. a minimum wage worker working a 40 hour work week would make around 34,000 dollars pretax. These are the reasons that the homeless crisis is so extreme. Since the homeless need to sleep some they usually look for another form of shelter other than a house, like a bench or sidewalk under an underpass. But a new problem arises benches have been made with arm rests so homeless cant sleep there and places have added metal studs and plant pots to stop homeless people from sleeping there. I believe this is unjust and should be Illegal, and by signing this petition we would be making LA a better place for everyone.
