End Actors/Writers Strike

The Issue

To whom it may concern,

We, the undersigned, urge all parties involved in the current actors and writers strike to prioritize the interests of film and TV workers whose jobs are at stake due to this ongoing dispute. While we understand the importance of advocating for fair compensation and improved working conditions for actors and writers, we believe it is equally vital to consider the broader impact of this strike on the entire industry workforce.

It is undeniable that the film and television industry plays a crucial role in providing livelihoods for a vast number of individuals, including production assistants, set designers, costume artists, makeup artists, technicians, and many others. These hardworking individuals are often the backbone of the entertainment sector, working diligently behind the scenes to bring captivating stories to life on our screens.

However, as the strike continues, we are witnessing an unfortunate domino effect, with productions getting halted or delayed, resulting in layoffs and financial hardships for thousands of workers. Many film and TV projects have been put on hold indefinitely, and as a consequence, these workers are facing uncertain futures, struggling to make ends meet, and risking losing their jobs altogether.

We acknowledge the importance of standing in solidarity with actors and writers, who deserve fair compensation for their creative contributions. We also recognize the importance of improving working conditions in the industry for all involved parties. However, we firmly believe that there must be a balanced resolution that considers the welfare of all workers.

We urge the parties involved to return to the negotiation table with an open mind, empathy, and a commitment to find a resolution that not only addresses the legitimate concerns of actors and writers but also safeguards the livelihoods of the wider industry workforce.

We call for a swift end to the strike and the resumption of film and TV productions, ensuring that the rights and well-being of all workers are upheld. We believe that a fair agreement can be reached through constructive dialogue and a shared dedication to the betterment of the entire entertainment community.

Please consider the tremendous impact this strike is having on countless individuals and their families who rely on stable employment in the film and TV industry. Together, let's find a way forward that ensures fairness, sustainability, and prosperity for all.

Sincerely,
