Encourage Proper Trash Disposal in Bryn Mawr

Encourage Proper Trash Disposal in Bryn Mawr
The Issue
Help our community and the environment by encouraging everyone to use trash cans more frequently! Using trash cans isn't just simple, it's a basic way to show respect for our environment and neighborhood. Across the globe, littering is a problem that harms our environment and, little do you know, our health and day-to-day living. Landfills cause water contamination, which can lead to diseases as well. Not only does litter make our streets, parks, and rivers look bad, but it can also hurt plants and animals. Plastic waste, in particular, often ends up in waterways and can take HUNDREDS of years to break down. Come on now, let's be honest, pick that piece of trash of walk ten steps to the trash can, and throw it out!
Here are five simple actions you can do daily to help the earths consuming of trash:
1. Always carry a small bag to collect your trash if you can't find a trash can nearby; don't just throw it on our precious earth.
2. Remind your friends and family about the importance of proper waste disposal.
3. Participate in community clean-up activities or organize one at your school. It will help the environment, and you did a good deed!
4. Advocate for more trash cans in areas where litter is common. (I'm doing that FYI!)
5. Educate others on recycling and how to sort trash correctly.
By incorporating these efforts into our routines, we can make a huge impact. Everyone in the world can take responsibility to keep our home clean, protected, strong, and safe. If more people use trash cans and keep their communities clean, we can inspire others to do the same in cities across the country. Let's start by picking up a piece of trash on the sidewalk!
Sign this petition to support a cleaner, greener living and to encourage everyone to use trash cans effectively.
