As a mom and a Christian, I know how hard it can be to find movies for our families that are not only entertaining, but also reflect the faith and values we are trying to teach our children at home.

Movies like The Prince of Egypt and Joseph: King of Dreams showed just how powerful biblical stories can be when they are told with beautiful animation, incredible music, and real heart. They gave families something we could enjoy together while also opening the door for conversations about God, faith, courage, forgiveness, sacrifice, and so much more.

More recently, the animated film David has reminded us that families are still hungry for this kind of content!

There are so many incredible stories throughout the Bible that could be brought to life for a new generation. Stories of faith, redemption, bravery, grace, love, forgiveness, and hope. And of course, there is no greater story than the life, ministry, sacrifice, and resurrection of Jesus.

DreamWorks has already shown that biblical animation can be beautiful, meaningful, memorable, and successful. I would LOVE to see them return to this kind of storytelling and create more films that Christian families can feel good about watching together.

And I truly believe these movies could reach far beyond Christian households. A beautifully told story about hope, forgiveness, courage, love, or redemption can speak to people from all walks of life.

Our children are constantly surrounded by entertainment and messages competing for their attention. How wonderful would it be to have more movies that not only capture their imagination, but also point them toward biblical truth and encourage them in their faith?
