My name is Rivaan & i am a young author from India and my first book, Rise of the Gods, was the realization of my lifelong dream. I poured countless hours into my work, eagerly anticipating the moment I could hold my story in my hands and share it with other passionate readers across the world. However, my joy was short-lived when I realized that Amazon.in does not support paperback or hardcover publishing.

Like thousands of other Indian authors, I was required to order proof copies from international platforms like Amazon.com, encountering exorbitant shipping and customs charges, that more than doubles the cost of publishing a book. It seems rather unjust that Indians are restricted from accessing a service that is readily available in many other countries around the world.

The struggle for Indian authors doesn't just end at self-publishing. Our stories are woefully underrepresented in North American and European markets due to high overseas shipping prices of Amazon.com. This significantly restricts our ability to spread Indian narratives and reach our potential audience.

By enabling paperback and hardcover publishing on Amazon.in, we can foster a more equitable and inclusive publishing landscape while enabling Indian authors to share their narratives on a global platform. Let's raise this issue with Amazon and urge them to extend these services to Amazon India!
