As an avid gamer and one among the 3 million people who have purchased games like Rust, Epic Games, and MW3, I find it disheartening that we are unable to fully enjoy these games on Linux due to the lack of Easy Anti-Cheat (EAC) support. We believe that every platform deserves equal attention and care from game developers. The absence of EAC support on Steam OS not only limits our gaming experience but also restricts us from accessing a vast community of fellow gamers.

The gaming industry is a rapidly growing sector with over 2.7 billion gamers worldwide in 2020 according to Statista. It's estimated that there are approximately 800 thousand active Linux users globally (Source: GamingOnLinux). This number may seem small compared to other platforms but it represents a dedicated community of gamers who deserve the same level of service as others.

We call upon Facepunch Studios - creators of Rust; Epic Games; and Infinity Ward - creators of Modern Warfare 3 (MW3), to extend their EAC support to Steam OS. This will not only enhance our gaming experience but also expand your player base by making your games more accessible across different platforms.
