Mr President of the Republic
You have decided to distinguish Michel Houellebecq, a writer who is xenophobic, racist and Islamophobic to the rank of Chevalier de la Legion of Honour with this distinction, French Muslims have to come to terms with the idea that their misunderstanding does not count and that they are ranked as citizens of the last category. It is the truth of a medal that the French Republic agrees to Michel Houellebecq, and the literary is the convenient mask.
In 2013, it is not so far, Houellebecq declared (the word were reported by a writer in 2016):
" I will give an interview where I will call for a civil war to eliminate the Islam of France. I will call to vote for Marine Le Pen! "Michel Houellebecq becomes a knight of the Legion of Honour (newspapers).
Despite his call to hate, he became a Knight of the Legion of Honour on January 1, 2019.
Mr President, you who are aware of the triptych of the Republic, you who are concerned with human rights, you who are guaranteed national unity, how can you explain that France chooses to decorate such a pyromaniac, execution of the low works of the mob, symbol of risk for social peace?
How can one explain the decoration of a man who calls for hate and who predicts a France with fire and blood?
How can one explain why the most illustrious French decoration can be seen, what services has it sent to France outside its calls for hatred to be singled out and Honoured by our Republic?
Do you think that the French, if they knew these declarations, would be favourable?
For our part, we think that France's opinion would be rightly shameful, shocked and upset.
The remarks he now makes do not deceive. How can one imagine and believe in the second world of literature? The writings he produces are the breeding ground for radicalisation and hatred of others.
Decorating it today is an offence to fraternal France, which we defend. For all those who can read between the lines, Michel Houellebecq is a fascist.
Mr President of the Republic, beyond the rejection, as for the person of Michel Houellebecq, France can no longer a partner in crime a "Mein Kampf" to the French.
You who was appointed Grand Master of the Legion of Honour during your investiture, a strong and concrete act towards the French community of France would be to remove him from this highest distinction. Otherwise, the duplicity of our republics would be the worst betrayal of the community of France, which was disarmed and humiliated.
One can not - in fact - make one side of the coin of the common denominator of racism and xenophobia and agree that one of the fervent carriers of these ideas can be officially recognised by our country as committing the distinction, synonym of Honour, morality and eminent merit.
Yours sincerely,
