Emergency & Specilised Medical Care Hospital in Uttara Kannada, Karnataka, India

Emergency & Specilised Medical Care Hospital in Uttara Kannada, Karnataka, India
The issue
Hi,
Karwar is one of India's fastest growing city in Uttara Kannada district of Karnataka Uttara Kannada population is over 1,437,169 per 2011 census and is forecasted to grow rapidly over the years.
Uttara Kannada (UK) has twelve taluka/towns with Karwar as the district headquarters; whilst, Kumta & Sirsi act as the other major commercial centres in the district.
UK has produced notable personalities in all form of professions and have invested with major contributions to the economy through agriculture, pioneering industry including atomic power station, minerals, paper products, and recently becoming the world’s latest and futuristic Seabird naval base in Karwar.
In the recent times, UK has been a tourist destination to popular spots like Dandeli, Karwar, Gokarna, Murdeshwara, Kumta, Sirsi, Honnavar and more.
With such a great scope of advancement and growth in education sector, agriculture, tourism, national navy base and beyond, the state and federal government have invested a lot except been unheard to the basic needs of health aspects in the Uttara Kannada.
Each taluka/town has basic government hospitals and private clinics. However, the people in the entire district lack a support of a full fledged Emergency & Specialist treatment care and services for various health and medical issues. Patients from different region and location within the UK district have to organise means, plan and transportation to reach for medical care and for emergency situation to either Goa, Manipal, Huballi-Dharwad, Shimoga. Technically, it is difficult for those individuals and families who live in hardship and those in critical health conditions including travel challenges.
It is a clear evidence over the years to watch so many undergo through panic and stressful moment of their life. Many have even lost their life whilst travelling to these far away hospitals. I too lost my cousin whilst travelling to Manipal-Mangalore Hospital. Ever since, so many people have pleaded from all parts of the district through social media and other mediums to raise their voice to build a Specialised & Emergency Hospital. So far, there has been no response nor attention to this urgent plead from thousands of people living in Uttara Kannada district.
Consequently, Uttara Kannada region needs a public hospital and is a paramount request to get attention from the local government, Karnataka state and the government of India.
Currently, KIM medical college has been a blessing to Karwar region but this medical institute needs a base of an operational medical facility for emergency, specialised medical care etc.
I want to initiate this request with the Karnataka state government and Government of India to build this much needed hospital in Uttara Kannada District.
Personally, I believe Karwar, Ankola, Kumta or Honnavar could be chosen as a perfect location for this public emergency & medical care hospital in the west coast of the district.
In reality, at least two such hospitals for UK region is a must. My other suggestion would be to have one to service the community living in Yellapur, Dandeli, Supa, Haliyal region.
Building this hospital would not only support and assure community health but would ensure employment growth and potential for futuristic location for other medical and pharmaceutical industries to invest in the region. The KIMs graduates would have the opportunity of employment and practice as residents in the newly built Specialised & Emergency Hospital.
Building such a medical facility/hospital would relieve pressure on surrounding hospitals of neighbouring districts. It would ensure employment growth, infrastructure development, create other business market, and overall bring about vital infrastructure to the Uttara Kannada Region.
The need for action is NOW, the sooner we start the sooner lives can be improved!
Thank you.
