Let’s put a stop to the injustice deportation of Juanfer Godoy.

Who is Juanfer Godoy?

An admirable man without a criminal record.

A good husband and excellent father.

A good son, brother and excellent human being.

Juanfer Godoy has been a victim of many injustices. He arrived to the United States when he was 15 years old, just an innocent child. His single mother helped him find an immigration attorney to solve his illegal status, the attorney that his mother hired back then, stole the money and never filed the case and disappeared without leaving a trace, that was just the beginning of an innocent teenager’s nightmare. 

He has worked hard to do things the right way since he was 15, today Juanfer is 34 years old and through all these years he has worked hard trying to find 3 attorney firms, paying a lot of money. He was able to obtain a work authorization that opened many doors for him, such as owning a construction business that offers jobs and is able to fully provide to his family. Who depend 100% from him.

Today, Juanfer is about to be deported to Guatemala, a country that he does not recognize as home anymore, where he has no one. He is about to be separated from his wife, his 3 children and his 4 siblings. His family needs him in this country.

His son Juanfer Jr. is a 11 year old kid and is very afraid of what is happening to his father. His other son, Alexander is 3 years old and has a speech disability that requires therapy sessions 3 times a week, and Juanfer taught him to answer when being called by his name. His children haven’t seen his father in 2 months now and they are both very affected by his absence. His daughter Cristina is 8 months old and needs her father very much. His wife Jennifer cannot run Juanfer’s business and take care of their family with a kid that has special needs. They’re 3 children who are American citizens, need Juanfer back home. It is not fair to separate him from his family.

Juanfer was summoned at the Charleston South Carolina immigration office through a letter that said he wasn’t at risk to be detained. He showed up and was immediately arrested without giving him the chance to speak up. Since then, September 26, 2022, he’s being detained in 3 different locations. He was first taken to Georgia were he was in two detention centers and currently, he is in Louisiana. He was told that he will  be sent soon to Guatemala and he hasn’t had the chance to talk to a judge.

Let’s stop this horrible injustice that is happening to this excellent human being and father of a beautiful family that is Juanfer Godoy.
