Save Hammond Bay - Stop the Pier into Hammond Bay by Pipers Lagoon Park.

The Issue

Spread the word; contact anyone you know who could stop this project, even though the Ministry deadline is gone.            Send your ideas for next actions to: LOSEBIG@shaw.ca          This precious area would be scarred forever! The private moorage pier would extend 24/7/365 from the shore on the right into the water 116-feet, which includes a 30x12' dock (see adjusted measurements in later post) and private moorage "for more than thirty years" extending out another 50'.   It won't be the last one.             If we don't protest the placement of this pier (by Pipers Lagoon Park), with the erection of concrete pillars and deep footings, we will be too late, forever, to protect this pristine area from further development.  Hammond Bay is home to marine mammals, marine fowl, bald eagles, the annual herring spawn, salmon and coho to mention some ... and a virtually unspoiled area that should be left as it is for all to appreciate.
