I'm a shiny Pokémon hunter, much like millions of other players who play these games. However, the current shiny lock feature that was implemented in generation V and beyond has hindered the ability to shiny hunt legendaries and, in some games, even the starters .

I believe that everyone should have the choice whether they want to shiny hunt or not. There's a thrill in catching shiny Pokémon, spending hours on the game constantly resetting just for a chance to see those sparkles, it leaves you with a sense of achievement because of how long you've been hunting it and it's something that becomes an incredibly cherished memory.

I understand that this feature was added likely so that the shiny forms of certain Pokémon can be distributed through events, but not everyone has Nintendo online to get the event Pokémon, let alone go to the stores that they could be distributing codes from them.

But I also understand that not everyone enjoys shiny hunting either but would like the shiny, that's why I propose that we make a change by removing the shiny lock from Pokémon games while also keeping the shiny event distribution. That way, everyone can have the option on whether they want to shiny hunt or not.

So, together, let's call upon the Pokémon Company and its affiliates to eliminate the shiny lock feature in Pokémon games. By doing so, they will restore the original enjoyment and thrill of shiny hunting. Sign this petition if you believe in a shiny future for all Pokémon hunters!
