As a passionate follower of the Eurovision Song Contest, I believe in the power of music and talent to unite people across borders. However, I am deeply concerned about the influence national juries have on determining the winners each year. This process often seems to go against public opinion and undermines what should be a celebration of diversity and creativity.

Eurovision is meant to be a platform for artists to showcase their talent and for audiences around Europe—and indeed, the world—to express their preferences through voting. Yet, it appears that political considerations can overshadow these principles. The national jury system has been criticized for being opaque and susceptible to bias (BBC News). In 2019 alone, there was a discrepancy between jury votes and public votes in almost half of all participating countries (Eurovision World).

This petition calls for an end to national jury voting in Eurovision. Let's return this contest back into hands of those who truly matter - viewers at home who appreciate talent over politics.
