I am a resident of the 4400 block of 11th Street in Riverside, CA. Like many others in my neighborhood, I find the mandatory parking permit requirements to be unfair and burdensome. We are a community that values freedom and flexibility; these permits restrict both.

Parking permits may seem like a minor inconvenience but they can have significant impacts on our daily lives. They limit our ability to host guests or even move our own vehicles freely around our neighborhood. Moreover, they impose an unnecessary financial burden on residents who already pay taxes for road maintenance.

According to data from the City of Riverside's Public Works Department (2019), there has been no significant increase in traffic or parking issues in our area that would necessitate such measures. Furthermore, other neighborhoods within Riverside do not have these strict permit requirements which further highlights their arbitrary nature.

We believe that removing these parking restrictions will restore fairness and flexibility for all residents living on the 4400 block of 11th Street. It is time for us to stand together as a community and demand change from those who impose these unnecessary regulations upon us.
