Eliminate Kicks, Punts, and Field Goals from the NFL

Eliminate Kicks, Punts, and Field Goals from the NFL
The Issue
I've been a passionate fan of the National Football League (NFL) for years, watching every game, always at the edge of my seat. However, I've noticed that kickoffs, punts, and field goals tend to kill the thrilling pace of the game. They are tedious, predictable, and contrary to the high-speed action that I, and many other fans, love about the sport.
The spontaneity and unpredictability of the scrimmage and the strategical plays are the real essence of the sport. According to statistics, kickoffs and punts represent less than 10% of the total game action but result in more than 20% of concussions (Journal of Athletic Training, 2018). This disproportionate risk should not be taken lightly, especially when these elements fail to add any genuine excitement to the game.
Additionally, field goals can often be anticlimactic, taking away a potential touchdown opportunity. We are sure that a new rule that promotes going for a touchdown instead will inject a new level of excitement and audacity into each game, and many fans will appreciate this breath of fresh air.
This change would both improve player safety and enhance the entertainment value of the sport. It's high time we move towards more engaging, vibrant, and safer NFL games. Please join me in signing this petition to eliminate kicks, punts, and field goals from the NFL.
