We are students of BRAC University in Dhaka, Bangladesh, deeply affected by the ongoing conflict between Israel and Palestine. It has come to my attention that the products we consume daily in our university cafes may indirectly contribute to this conflict. Specifically, Coca-Cola and Pepsi have been reported to have different deals with Israel, a country accused of killing innocent Palestinians.

As consumers, we hold power in our choices. By choosing not to support these companies through our purchases at university cafes, we can make a stand against injustice. The presence of these products on campus is not just an issue of personal preference but also one of ethical consumption.

It's important to note that both Coca-Cola and Pepsi are global corporations with significant influence. According to Statista (2020), they collectively hold over 70% market share in the global soft drink industry. Their involvement with any country or cause can have substantial impacts.

By removing their products from our university cafes and their advertisements from posters around campus, we send a clear message about where we stand as an academic community - for justice and peace.
