I am writing this petition because the Term 3 Mocks Paper 1 AASL math exam has caused undue stress and unfair consequences for many students. This exam was not just challenging; it was impossible. The difficulty was beyond what could reasonably be expected for our level and included questions that did not match the curriculum or the study materials we were provided with.

This isn't just about difficulty – it is about fairness and our academic credibility. We spend countless hours preparing for exams, relying on our teachers and the provided curriculum to guide us. When an exam completely diverges from the curriculum, it becomes not just a test of our knowledge but a test of our resilience in the face of unfairness. Students who usually perform well were left confused and demoralized, questioning their abilities rather than understanding the shortcomings of the test itself.

Deleting this exam from the database is a necessary step to ensure our records accurately reflect our knowledge and capabilities. The results of this exam do not provide a fair representation of our skills and understanding of the subject. Maintaining these results unfairly skews our academic performance records and could have long-lasting impacts on our educational paths.

We propose a solution in line with educational fairness: by removing this unjust exam from our records, we request that it be replaced with an alternative assessment that aligns with our curriculum and acknowledges the disparity we faced. Additionally, involving both students and teachers in discussing and designing future assessments can help prevent such issues from occurring again.
