Pedimos Integridad y Transparencia en Comite de Viviendas Asequibles de Hialeah.

Pedimos Integridad y Transparencia en Comite de Viviendas Asequibles de Hialeah.
The Issue
ENGLISH AFTER SPANISH
Estamos pidiendo 3 cosas:

To the esteemed City Council and Mayor of Hialeah,
We, the undersigned residents of Hialeah, come before you with heavy hearts and steadfast determination. The creation of the Affordable Housing Task Force was a beacon of hope for a brighter future, a promise of equity and progress for all in our community. However, this promise has been marred by shadows of betrayal, conflict of interest, and a glaring lack of accountability.
The arbitrary selection of task force members by the Mayor and Council President has raised serious concerns among us. The majority of these members, developers and lobbyists with vested business interests in Hialeah, walk a thin line where personal gains intersect with the public good. This conflict of interest strikes at the core of trust and integrity in governance, casting a dark cloud over the noble purpose of the task force.
One member, in particular, stands out amidst this controversy – Michael Whol, the President of Pinnacle Housing Group. It is a matter of public record that Michael Whol, along with four other partners, was embroiled in a case where their construction company, DAXC, was accused of defrauding the government of $4 million in affordable housing construction funds in 2017. This led to Pinnacle Housing Group being banned from receiving federal funds for a period of time, making Michael Whol not a trustworthy member of the task force. Despite the court case and documents being presented at a public council meeting, no action was taken to address this grievous breach of trust. Michael Whol's continued presence on the task force is a stain on the integrity of our city's governance.
We, the people of Hialeah, cannot stand idly by in the face of such betrayal and lack of accountability. We urge the City Council and the Mayor to heed our call for justice and transparency. It is with a unified voice that we petition for the immediate termination of Michael Whol's board appointment. Let this be a stand for the values of honesty, integrity, and public trust that should guide our city towards a future where all residents are treated with fairness and dignity.
