Optimum is the only provider of High Speed Internet and cable TV in much of the Town of Brookhaven. This lack of competition leads to poor service and ever-increasing rate hikes from Optimum. It's time to bring in Verizon FiOS or another competitor to Optimum into the Town of Brookhaven.

Let our representatives know that we want them to re-start negotiations with Verizon or another ISP (Internet Service Provider), and to not repeat the failed politics of 2013. 

In 2013 there was an attempt to bring Verizon FiOS into the Town of Brookhaven, but the town failed to reach an agreement with Verizon. It was purported that the town required Verizon to connect all town facilities at no cost to the town, a price that Verizon was not willing to pay, which resulted in no FiOS for the residents.
