The Issue

On behalf of all the supporters of the club, we hope this petition will reach out to the necessary candidates to bring back the club.

The club's return would benefit everyone in a number of ways:

1. The supporters would have something to support and not feel lost

2. Pave a way for forced-retired players to return to the pitch

3. The club's history would not perish

4. Bringing life back to the Jaguars' home ground and one of the most historic stadiums in Singapore, Queenstown Stadium

Tanjong Pagar United, an inactive Singapore Football League club, closed its doors in November 2014 citing financial issues for the second time in their history, the first being in 2004.

A club full of history and one of the founding clubs of the S.League, the club (also known as the Jaguars) was one of the most supported clubs in the S.League in the 90s. Their success was also shown on-pitch in the 90s claiming the Singapore Cup and the FA Cup in 1998. The club finished second on S.League standings in the same season behind, then-Singapore Armed Forces FC. The club however, closed down in 2004 due to financial reasons. The club returned to the S.League in 2011 after successfully managing their finances. Supporters were hyped up for the return with former Singapore international, Terry Pathmanathan leading the club. Pathmanathan was released at the end of 2012, paving way for Patrick Vallee to take over. The club's revival to glory became clear in 2013 with the much-talked about French revolution inclusive of Monsef Zerka, who plied his trade for a number of notable clubs such as AS Nancy in France's Ligue 1 and New England Revolution in the American Major League Soccer (MLS). His skills indeed were shown on-pitch making him one of the most successful marquee signings in the S.League in the 2010s, topping the club's scoring chart for 2 years in a row (2013-2014). The club came close to glory twice in 2013 in the Singapore Cup Final and in 2014 in the League Cup final, the closest the Jaguars have came to their glory days of the late 90s.

The club unfortunately hit the red zone in finances at the end of 2014, forcing termination of the contracts of players and staff in the club. Some players went into forced retirement from professional football. The supporters community on the other hand, kept surviving, fighting for the return of the club.
