Rehire Professor Marshall @ Cal Lutheran University

Rehire Professor Marshall @ Cal Lutheran University

The Issue

I woke up seeing this post and my heart dropped however then my anger engaged.

"It with great sadness to announce CLUs decision to reposition my role during covid-19 cause I supported my student & spoke out against a title IV violation at CLU. It has been an honor serving CLU over the past 9 years. “Repositioning” my role into unemployment was not because of my research or dedication. To my students, you gave me a purpose after my husband died, while my dad & I battle cancer now without health insurance. I will continue to be a champion, a mentor, a friend, a confidant, & more. My faith in the Lord will carry me through. I wish you the best & you will do amazing things. I have made a true difference to the students that were blessed to have a class with “Mean” Miss Marshall!

To my students, I have reapplied for another position & if you feel the university should right their wrongs, please email, call, or write the President, Vice Provost, or Dean. I know speaking out or stating the truth cost me my job. I would do it again cause ethical integrity is something my faith will not stay silent for! I taught my students this & I am living my truth! To my students, don’t give into the spiral of silence! Speak up, be that rhetorician & be the voice of change!

Thank-you to my students! You are my hero’s!"

Cal Lutheran prides itself in being inclusive and family like community. However, in my 3 years as a student there and 2 years as an alum, I have only felt this from some of my professors and my amazing friends. The university has already dealt with 2 other scandals this year. And without the outspokenness of students, 0 action would have been taken by the university.

I've read comments former students of Professor Marshall's have made and they're heartwarming and inspiring. She's a huge asset to the students of the university, and anyone who wants to should be given the chance to take her class and learn from her.

PLEASE SIGN, SHARE, AND EMAIL THE PRESIDENT, DEAN, AND PROVOST.
