Educate Teenagers regarding Mental Health issues across all schools in Pakistan

Educate Teenagers regarding Mental Health issues across all schools in Pakistan
The Issue
Why is it important to teach teenagers how to solve these issues in secondary and high schools?
It is essential that we teenagers know how to solve these issues in secondary and high schools as it will cause society to become better as a whole almost immediately. Educating students on how to handle high-stress levels and manage pre-existing mental issues and stopping them from developing new ones will cause a positive ripple effect in all aspects of our lives. Teaching the younger generations solutions to mental health problems will prevent many mental health issues from developing into serious issues.
Due to the high illiteracy rate in Pakistan, especially in rural areas, people often mistake mental health issues and believe their child has been possessed and fall into the scams of local religious persons called “Pir’s” or “amils,” thinking these people can fix their child, but if we teach the importance of mental health in schools, it will stop parents from going to these “Pir’s” and actually take them to professional therapists who will be able to offer better help to them.
We aim to get this petition signed by as many people as possible to bring this to the attention of the current Federal Minister for Education of Pakistan, Rana Tanveer Hussain, who can make this change possible.
Hopefully, this will make you realise why we need to educate teenagers about mental health issues across all schools in Pakistan and the overall importance of mental health in our lives. Educate the Youth, End the Stigma. #endthestigma
