Eden's Law: Give Families 90 Days' Notice Before Food and Utensil Changes
Help protect people with ARFID, autism, and disabilities from sudden changes to the products they depend on.

Why I am calling this Eden's Law
My daughter Eden is a child with complex disabilities. She has autism, cerebral palsy, and a rare genetic condition called XPO1 syndrome. She also has significant feeding challenges, including ARFID.

I am starting this petition because I know how important familiar foods, drinks, and eating products can be for children and adults with feeding and sensory challenges. When a company changes a recipe, packaging, cup, lid, straw, or utensil without warning, the impact can be much bigger than a simple product inconvenience.

Eden's Law is about giving families time to prepare.

I want to see legislation requiring companies to provide at least 90 days' advance public notice before significant changes to food and beverage recipes, formulations, packaging, or the physical design of covered eating and drinking utensils when those changes could reasonably affect sensory acceptance, nutritional content, or product usability.

This notice would give parents, caregivers, and therapists time to find alternatives, purchase existing products, and help individuals prepare for changes.

I am naming this effort after Eden because her story represents so many children and adults whose needs are often overlooked. My hope is that Eden's name can stand for something bigger: a world where disabled people and their families are considered before everyday products change.

Eden's Law would not stop companies from making changes. It would ask them to give families the time they need to adapt.
