🚨 BIG MOMENT FOR EAST WINDSOR
Erin Stewart just stood in front of the Gravel Pit Solar facility and publicly called for a moratorium on large-scale solar projects in East Windsor until the Connecticut Siting Council is reformed.
This changes the conversation.
For years, residents have raised concerns about:
• Nearly 500 acres of prime Connecticut River Valley farmland to be replaced
• Over 1,500 acres of open space in East Windsor converted to industrial solar
• A proposal to expand another 150 acres closer to homes
• Decisions made in Hartford — not locally
This is not about being anti-renewable.
It’s about balance.
It’s about protecting irreplaceable farmland.
It’s about affordability.
It’s about restoring local control.
Meanwhile, our petition has grown to 2,172 documented and VERIFIED signatures opposing further expansion in East Windsor.

Now is the time to make your voice heard.
If you support farmland protection, responsible energy policy, and local decision-making, write to:
Governor Ned Lamont – governor.lamont@ct.gov
DEEP Commissioner Katie Dykes – katie.dykes@ct.gov
Dept. of Agriculture Commissioner Bryan Hurlburt – bryan.hurlburt@ct.gov
Connecticut Siting Council – siting.council@ct.gov
Ask:
Why was the Department of Agriculture not meaningfully involved in the loss of prime farmland?
Why are rural towns absorbing disproportionate impacts?
Why are electric bills rising while communities lose open space?
This is a pivotal moment.
