Tomorrow, Thursday, February 26th at 5:00 p.m. is the FINAL deadline to submit public comment on the Gravel Pit Solar Expansion (Docket 492A).
After 5 p.m., the record closes. 1,961 petition signers but we have less than 100 emails and letters.
Even though the Council issued a unanimous straw poll vote to approve with conditions, the final vote has not happened yet. Public comments still become part of the official record.
This is where numbers matter.
If you signed the petition but have not emailed the Council, please take 60 seconds right now:
📧 Send an email to: siting.council@ct.gov
📝 Subject line: Docket No. 492A
That’s it.
Your message can be simple. It does NOT need to be long or technical.
You can literally write:
I oppose the Gravel Pit Solar expansion in East Windsor.
The cumulative environmental impact is too great, especially on prime farmland and our community.
Please deny Docket 492A.
Or write from the heart. Mention farmland. Fire safety. Overdevelopment. Property impacts. The Tobacco Valley. Or simply say you are against it.
Every single email becomes part of the public record.
East Windsor already hosts the largest industrial solar facility in New England. Expanding further into active agricultural land sets a precedent that affects not just our town, but the future of farmland across Connecticut.
Developers count on public fatigue.
They count on people assuming it’s already decided.
It is not final yet.
If you care about preserving farmland, responsible siting, and protecting our community from industrial overconcentration — please send that email before 5 p.m. tomorrow.
It truly takes less than a minute.
Now is the moment.
