🌱 Want to Speak Up About the Proposed Solar Expansion for Gravel Pit Solar? Here’s How to Become a Party in Docket 492A 🌱
As a Party, you can:
✅ Submit written evidence before the hearing
✅ Present witnesses for questioning
✅ Ask questions of the petitioner and other participants about their submitted evidence
❌ You cannot speak at the hearing to make your case—you must present your arguments in writing. But in return, you’re allowed to cross-examine others and their witnesses.
It might sound like a lot, but the Siting Council will guide us through the process. Their staff is available by email or phone if you need help.
👥 If your neighbor wants to join, they can either file separately or you can represent both of you. Just include their name, address, phone, and email on the form, and say you’re representing a group. You can name the group however you like or you dont have to name it at all.
📄 The Party Status Request form is fillable and simple. I have included a link to the form in the comments. Here’s an example of how to answer the four required questions (feel free to adjust wording except for #3, which must stay as written):
Docket = 492A
1. My property abuts the proposed Wapping Rd location that would be adjacent to the xxx array
2. I propose to participate as a Party by filing interrogatories, testimony and evidence. I also intend to cross-examine the petitioner
3. Pursuant to Connecticut General Statutes Chapter 227a, Section §16-50n and §4-177a
4. I intend to present evidence of the substantial adverse effect that the facility would have on the environment
📬 Once completed:
• Print and sign the form
• Make 15 copies to mail to the Siting Council with the original
(If you can’t make the copies, the Council can do it for you as a courtesy)
