Create the Old Town Cycleway

The Old Town Cycleway would provide a coherent, safe north-south link between 10 schools* on the West of Eastbourne. It would mean that far more children, their parents and teachers could cycle safely – most of them live only a mile or two away. Find out more about the route here.

There are health benefits for children who cycle or walk to school – a recent study shows they also concentrate better in class. More bikes and fewer cars on the school run would reduce congestion and pollution and save money.

The decision rests with East Sussex County Council based in Lewes. With your suppport we can put the Old Town Cycleway on their agenda and ensure they take this proposal seriously.

As a county councillor, John Ungar will present the petition for us at the next available opportunity.
