We, the undersigned residents of East Ridge, TN, respectfully petition the government of East Ridge, namely the Mayor and the City Council, to undertake and complete a new, improved, expanded, up to date, and respectable shelter for the abandoned, lost, displaced and otherwise homeless animals of East Ridge.

The current facility was never intended for the purposes it is currently being used and is grossly inadequate and inappropriate. Its original intent was a short term lethal dog pound. The average life span of the unfortunate animal that found itself there was 2-3 days.

Now East Ridge Animal Services is a No Kill Shelter. Its facility is embarrassingly inadequate, in both its size and function. We are willing and able to assist the City Council in creating an up to date, respectable, and fully functional shelter. We, hereby, petition the East Ridge City Council to approve and immediately move forward in creating this facility for the helpless animals of East Ridge.
