🐾 COMMUNITY UPDATE: 114 SIGNATURES AND GROWING! 🐾

Thank you to everyone who has signed and shared our petition supporting a dog park for East Elmhurst!

As of today, we have reached 114 signatures, which is an incredible milestone and demonstrates that many residents believe our community deserves a safe, designated space for dogs and their owners.

Because we have now surpassed 100 signatures, I have taken the next step in advancing this initiative. I have formally reached out to:

• Commissioner Tricia Shimamura and the leadership of the NYC Department of Parks & Recreation

• Council Member Shanel Thomas-Henry, who represents our community

In my communications, I shared the concerns of local residents regarding the lack of a designated dog-friendly space in East Elmhurst and requested assistance in exploring options for either a dog-friendly area within Helen Marshall Park or another suitable location in our neighborhood.

This effort is not about challenging park rules. It is about working together to find a positive solution that serves families, pet owners, and the broader community.

Together, we can continue building support and demonstrate that East Elmhurst residents care about creating inclusive community spaces for everyone—including our four-legged family members.
