The Issue

Dear HOA Board Members,

As we move into the warmer spring months here in Broken Arrow, I am writing to formally propose that the neighborhood pool open ahead of the traditional Memorial Day schedule.

Our community is full of active families and residents who would greatly benefit from an extended swim season. Opening the gates early would provide several key advantages for our neighborhood:

Maximizing Amenity Value: Residents invest significantly in our community through HOA dues. Extending the pool season ensures we are getting the maximum return on these shared facilities.
A Safe Outlet for Youth: With many of our neighborhood children active in local sports and outdoor activities, the pool offers a safe, supervised environment for them to stay active and cool as the temperatures rise.
Fostering Community Spirit: The pool is our primary social hub. Opening early allows neighbors to reconnect after the winter months, strengthening the sense of community that makes our neighborhood a great place to live.
Health and Wellness: Swimming is an excellent low-impact exercise for all ages. Providing earlier access encourages physical fitness and outdoor engagement for everyone from toddlers to seniors.
Preparation for Oklahoma Heat: As we often experience early heat waves in the spring, having the pool operational ensures our residents have a local place to retreat from the sun.
I understand there are logistical considerations regarding maintenance and staffing. However, I believe the positive impact on resident satisfaction and community engagement would far outweigh the adjustments needed to move the date up.

Thank you for your time and for everything you do to maintain our neighborhood. I look forward to hearing your thoughts on this proposal.

Best regards,
