Late last night, Chairman Bill Evans resigned from the Beaufort County Board of Education. Chairman Evans was a strong supporter of Dr. Jeffrey Moss. Now that Evans is gone, we must keep the pressure on the rest of the board members to terminate Dr. Moss. Here is a summary of why Dr. Moss needs to go:  He acted in an unethical and unprofessional manner to enable his wife to secure a $90,000 a year job in the Beaufort County School District.  He unilaterally changed the district’s nepotism rule that prohibited members of the superintendent’s family from accepting central office positions.  He also unilaterally changed the job description to allow his wife to apply and subsequently be hired.  He acted in an unprofessional manner and displayed a tremendous amount of bad judgment.  He refused to acknowledge his misdeeds and apologize to the public.  He set a morally reprehensible example for the 22,000 students in the Beaufort County School District.  He has lost the trust of the public.
