Richard Watler, Berkeley Group's Head of Construction at Southall Waterside, is also a LA (Citizen) Governor at Blair Peach Primary School, in Southall. Clean Air for Southall and Hayes (CASH) say that this is a conflict of interests and is preventing the headteacher from properly protecting her staff and pupils from the effects of harmful air pollution, containing carcinogenic benzene and possibly carcinogenic naphthalene from the building site, by demanding independent air quality monitoring at the school, which is a known sensitive receptor.
