It is a safety issue.  In New York City, people are riding scooters thirty miles an hour on sidewalks. On roads they just check for a second at red lights and go right through them. They don't have licenses so they can't be ticketed. They are causing accidents and are injuring or KILLING others or/and themselves. They cause drivers to have to watch out when they flout driving rules such as red lights and go down streets the wrong way.  Drivers are also usually end up having to defend themselves in lawsuits involving injuries caused by e - vehicles. Since people riding e - vehicles don't have insurance, if a rider goes into a car, they don't have insurance usually, and the driver can't get the money he/she deserves to fix their car. This is a problem for riders of e- vehicles, drivers of cars and pedestrians.  We need equal vehicle rules and laws which protect pedestrians and drivers alike.  We call upon the New York City governor and/or the NY State governor to change these laws and the NYC police department to enforce these laws. This enforcement will save many lives and prevent many more debilitating injuries. One who saves a life it is considered to have saved the world. This will most likely save at least one life.
