Extend Theory Test Certificate for those whose tests are affected by the COVID-19 crisis.

The Issue

Due to the Coronavirus outbreak driving tests, understandably have been cancelled for up to 3 months. Through no fault of their own, this means that many candidates who would have been due to take a test may now have to face a retest due to expiring theory test certificates before practical test dates are issued.

It would be a huge gesture of good will for extensions to be granted cover the period of test centre closures. Not doing so would leave many candidates, some of which still reeling from A Level cancellations and a severe reduction in incomes having to pay again needlessly for a retaking a theory test.

Putting a ‘freeze’ on expiration dates would be a huge gesture and would show a lot of good will during this current crisis. Making someone pay again needlessly is no more than profiteering.
