Respect the Religions - No to Blasphemy. Geert Wilders must Apologize & Delete the Cartoon
The Issue
Every being on earth must respect each others spiritual beliefs & practices. And one must not attack others religious beliefs or being disrespectful towards others spiritual leaders.
Problem: Geert Wilders recent act of holding a "Mohammad cartoon contest" provoked an out-cry and it disgusted the whole Muslim community globally.
Solution: Geert Wilders needs to ask for an apology from all the Muslims around the world and get his blasphemous contents out from the social media and where ever he has published. Since his contents (Photos/Videos) are creating violence & also an unnecessary hatred towards innocent individuals.
Islam is based on two main sources - the Quran and the Sunnah: Quran is the word of God revealed to Prophet Muhammad PBUH and the Sunnah is the ‘Way of Prophet Muhammad PBUH’.
The authority of the Islamic state, the socioeconomic structure and jurisprudence, family law etc all of it needs to be based on these two sources. Either directly or through principle.
So if you read the legal verdicts of Islamic courts, for instance, they would contain many ‘Qala RasulAllah’ (Messenger of God said…) along with the Quran.
These both sources are, in short, considered divine in origin and thus final proof beyond which no further proof is needed. (Though the sources cannot be wrong, human understanding of them can be. From this come forth all disagreements)
Therefore, the only two sources of final evidence (that suffice in of themselves) are based around Prophet Muhammad pbuh.
This is where the matter comes to respect.
All of Islam is based upon accepting whatever follows (authentic and in context) ‘Qala RasulAllah…’ (Messenger of God said..) as being the truth from God.
That accepting of it being God's word depends greatly upon the respect of the Messenger of God.
Without respect of RasulAllah (Messenger of God) the acceptance of ‘Qala RasulAllah…’ (The Messenger of God said…) also decreases greatly.
Once that decreases, with it decreases the influence/acceptance/power/legitimacy etc of Islam and the whole socio-economic and spiritual system created by it.
That is why the respect and honour of the Prophet pbuh is considered of the utmost importance by Islam and Muslims.
That is why any attack on the person of Muhammad pbuh is not simply seen as an attack on one person, rather as an attack on Islam and Muslims as a whole.
That is why Islamic law (which gives legitimacy to an Islamic Government) considers it such a serious matter. An attack on its very foundation and existence. It is thus treated as treason and rebellion against the state itself.
That's why Muslims take it so personally, as it seems like an attack on their very identity and their ‘way of life’.
P.s. There is a difference between respectful debate, disagreement and insult. Islam has a problem with the last one.
