THE STORY: When Dubuque County Sheriff Office wanted Dubuque to welcome their new deputy Matt Pothoff, a quick google search brought up these alleged charges on Matt Pothoff from 2017, reported by the Dyersville Commercial:

Dubuque citizens were schocked and had many questions about his case.

**February 13, 2017 Luke Pothoff (his brother) was sworn in as a Deputy Sheriff for Dubuque County.

**January 9, 2017 Harley Pothoff (his father) was promoted from Sergeant of the 3rd Shift Road Patrol to Captain of the Road Patrol.

**September 2017. Matthew Pothoff was arrested on sexual abuse charges.

**The charges were dropped by the person and there was no conviction.

We are concerned with the fact that both his father and brother were on the force at the time of his arrest.

and at the time of his hiring, Matt's brother Luke was sheriff and his father Harley was County Supervisor. 

They still currently hold these positions.
