Thanks to all who've signed this petition to save the Fairview trees. There's been quite a bit of press and social media coverage and we hope that Dublin City Council will see that the people have spoken. I've been asked about alternatives to the proposed plan and to this I say: let's save the trees first and then talk about the best possible plan for the cycleway with all the relevant experts and user groups. Today's picture is from October 1908 and captures our ancestors who planted these amazing trees, trees that are older than the State.
