The Issue

2016 is 100 years commemorating the Rising for Irish Freedom. We have the opportunity to recognise and honour Countess Constance Georgina Markievicz as the First Woman MP elected to the British Parliament but who declined to take her seat. A remarkable leader who became the First woman cabinet Minister of Labour in Europe, elected and appointed to the Dáil Éireann in Ireland.
