DROP THE PRICE
DROP THE PRICE
The Issue
We, the fans and customers of Nintendo, are deeply disappointed with the confirmed pricing of the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2.
The base model will launch at $450, and the version bundled with a single game will cost $500. This pricing strategy excludes a large portion of your loyal player base—especially students, families, and younger gamers—who have stood by your brand for decades.
Worse yet, first-party Nintendo games on the new system will be priced at $80. That’s a 33% increase from the already high $60 standard, and there’s no justification for it. Nintendo games have always been about accessibility, creativity, and community—not putting profits over players.
We’re not asking for freebies. We’re asking for fairness.
Nintendo is a company that built its legacy on being for everyone. But these prices are telling your fanbase the exact opposite.
We urge Nintendo to:
1-Reduce the base price of the Nintendo Switch 2
2-Offer a more reasonable bundle package
3-Reconsider the $80 price point for new games
Gaming should be for everyone—not just those who can afford to drop $500+ on day one. We love Nintendo. But $80 games and a $500 entry point? That’s too much. We won’t stand for it.
