As much as I take pride in the fact that India is the 1st Country in South Asia, to have banned Animal testing for cosmetics in the year 2014, I would respectfully urge you to put a complete ban on Animal testing. Why show half compassion with a full heart.

I Aashmeen Kaur a 5th grader from Prometheus School Noida, Uttar Pradesh appeal to you to kindly ban Animal testing on Drugs as well. I shall cite 3 prominent reasons for the same.
1. INHUMANE: Animals are kept in Subpar conditions, deliberately sickened with diseases, and then experimented upon. Being tormented physically and psychologically they die bit by bit, a slow painful, and traumatic death. This is unethical and a complete violation of their basic right to live.
2. UNRELIABLE RESULTS: There is no conclusive evidence that after the test on animals the final product is free of every toxicity or side effect. Hence it is not judicious either.
3. ALTERNATIVES: Many other viable alternatives are available namely Organs-on-chip, Organoids, In-Vitro testing, Human-based micro-dosing, Human-Patient simulators, sophisticated computer modeling; which are cheaper, faster, and more reliable than animal research.

Concluding by stating that instead of sticking to the age-old outdated method of testing, we should adopt newer approaches and technologies; which are more ethical and accurate too. Let's as a nation look towards "Progression with Compassion".
