Cancel the Good Counsel Math and Science Finals
The Issue
Recently students have come across news that good counsel will still be having math and science finals that impact our overall fourth quarter grades. During these unprecedented times resulting in learning disturbances, students have been under a tremendous amount of stress and pressure which has impacted our ability to learn. Even studying for cumulative tests during normal times is stressful but now adding the burdens of the pandemic and a rise in mental health challenges, the decision to still have these tests makes us question where the priorities of the school stand. We understand we need rigor and to be prepared for college, however we also feel that these are not normal times and a gesture such as cancelling these two finals will go a long way to improving our mental health and ability to cope with our current stressors.
