It's clear, we all want kids back in the classrooms and agree that it is the best place for them to learn and thrive.  However, this should never come at the cost of their safety.  As parents and guardians a key component of our child's safety is in making informed decisions about their well being.  Sadly the Ontario government has chosen to strip us of this critical information when it comes to our kids returning to in-class learning.

On the evening of December 31st, the Doug Ford government quietly released a memo stating that contact tracing will no longer be conducted in schools- essentially removing the ability for parents and guardians to make informed decisions on their kids' safety each day as they go to school.

Contact tracing is a key component in maintaining safe and healthy classrooms.  Without it widespread outbreaks can be expected to persist once schools re-open for in person learning, and lead to unnecessary exposure of COVID-19 for our children and education workers.  Something that completely avoidable and absolutely unacceptable.

Parents, education workers and our children all deserve peace of mind knowing that they are entering a safe environment each day.

Please sign this petition to support the return of contract tracing in schools and lets keep everyone safe.
