Dear KCFA Members and Supporters:
On October 15, the Hawaii County Council unanimously adopted Council Member Brenda Ford’s Resolution No. 501-14 asking the Hawaii Legislature to put an end to the deception, fraud and damage to the reputation of Hawaii-Grown coffees caused by the 10% Hawaii Coffee Blend law.
After more than 23 years of state-sanctioned deception and fraud, NOW IS OUR TIME to bring Truth-in-Labeling for Hawaii-Grown Coffees.
Coffee Farmers and their supporters need to follow up on this important message from the Hawaii County Council. We are asking each of you to do three things:
1—Click here http://tinyurl.com/pvc9xl4 to read Resolution No. 501-14. It is an excellently crafted document. Please familiarize yourself with the Blend/Labeling issues. We will need you to provide written testimony (often on short notice) during the 2015 Legislative Session.
2. Add your name and comments to the Peition below.
3—Please send a personalized email to your State Senator and State House Representative urging them to actively work to bring about the changes sought by the Hawaii County Resolution. To find email addresses for your Senator and Representative, go to www.capitol.hawaii.gov
We need your help to protect the reputation of our heritage crop—and to bring consumer protection and fair marketing principles to the marketing of Hawaii-Grown coffees.
