Protect Kinnagoe Bay from Wind Farm Development

Protect Kinnagoe Bay from Wind Farm Development
The Issue
We, the undersigned, have objected strongly to the planning application (15/51683) to build a third wind turbine on Crockbrack Hill, Meenletterbale, near Kinnagoe Bay, Inishowen, Donegal. Turbines at this site are on the designated route of the Wild Atlantic Way, an internationally recognised tourist attraction that highlights on the wild, unspoilt Irish landscape. Donegal County Council's Tourism Policy states that the route to and from Kinnagoe Bay should be protected. There are five European protected sites within 13 kilometres radius of the turbines. The turbines are an inappropriate, industrial intrusion into this landscape. Both Donegal Council and An Bord Pleanala's Inspector rejected the first application on the grounds that they are an inappropriate intrusion into a wild landscape.
On Friday the 19th of February 2016, Donegal County Council Planning decided to REFUSE the planning application PA 15/51683 for the third wind turbine.
A small victory for Kinnagoe Bay and Crockbrack Hill! Unfortunately this will NOT be the end of the fight. The next step the developer will take is to appeal the decision of the Donegal County Council to refuse this development at An Bord Pleanala in Dublin.
On the 24. Feb. 2016 we asked for your opinions. The majority of the answers we got from you are in favor of getting professional help to fight the coming appeal to have a chance to prevent the construction of the third turbine on Crockbrack Hill.
We are grateful for all donations for our campaign to prevent the construction of the third wind turbine on Crockbrack Hill overshadowing Kinnagoe Bay and the Wild Atlantic Way.
