The Community and Economic Development Director approved a new Certificate of Compliance with Design Guidelines (with Waivers) for the Grandview Station project on June 30, 2020.  We are incredibly disappointed that the Director did not follow the Design Review Advisory Committee's recommendation - which found that the house at 7317 Grandview should not be demolished.  Instead, the Director chose to approve demolition of all 3 of the contributing buildings to the Downtown Arvada Historic District based on a finding that the new building would still be "compatible" with the character of Olde Town Arvada.  This is entirely false because we believe the new building is not only incompatible, but will destroy the character of Olde Town Arvada. Lastly, the Director's approved Certificate of Compliance failed to address any of the numerous (40+) additional Design Guidelines for Olde Town Arvada that were identified as "not met" by myself and several other community members at the recent Design Review Advisory Committee meeting.

As an adjacent property owner, I have the right to appeal the approval of the Certificate of Compliance to the Arvada City Council. We anticipate that the Arvada City Council will hold its public hearing in late July or early-mid August.  We will need all of your support at the Arvada City Council to encourage them to deny this Certificate of Compliance and preserve Olde Town Arvada as we know it!

Please help us gather more signatures if you know people who would love to see Olde Town preserved and care about fairness.

Thank you, Lori
