Keep American Golf Courses Running during Covid19

Keep American Golf Courses Running during Covid19
The Issue
More than ever we need healthy recreational activities. We are seeing golf courses around the country continue to adapt. They are making the sport safe, but the government is shutting them down. We should be fighting to keep whatever business we can up and running.
The NGCOA has released a set of guidelines to run a course safely:
https://www.ngcoa.org/info-centers/covid19/park-and-play-program
Here are some guidelines which if followed would make it safe to golf. The sport would be completely touchless, zero contact. Let's do the following:
- All ball washers will be covered with a plastic bag
- All rakes will be removed from the course
- Shallow holes, inverted cups, some way to prevent golfers from reaching into the hole.
- The Pro Shop will be closed, requiring online payments only.
- Walking encouraged (or required) or one to a cart.
- Shut down f&b operation, delivery only.
- No touching the flagstick
- No seed bottles.
- Increase increment time by 50%
If golf courses are not kept open, many will go bankrupt and close affecting hundreds of thousands of employees and associated industries. While the course is closed and green staff stop maintaining the course it will take years to bring it back into the condition our golfers expect.
Millions of people play golf each week, many are young and healthy! The loss of their recreational activity, social discussions and time spent with friends and partners walking in the fresh air will be lost and could have serious unnecessary long-term effects on the health, physical and mental wellbeing of these golfers.
