Stop the appointment of Lauretta Onochie as an INEC National commissioner.

Stop the appointment of Lauretta Onochie as an INEC National commissioner.
The Issue
This is a great call on fellow Nigerians and the international community to prevail on Nigerian lawmakers to reject the nomination of Lauretta Onochie, President Buhari's media aide, and a card-carrying member of his party, All Progressives Congress (APC), as a national commissioner of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The nomination of Ms. Onochie sends a strong signal of a sinister move by President Buhari to directly influence the outcome of the 2023 general elections. This is already being perceived as existential threat to democracy and corruption by the potential eligible voters. Nigerians now fear their President is out to deliberately disenfranchise them ahead of future general elections and will want to resist this deliberate fraud.
The Nigerian democracy has been volatile for the past few years and Nigerians are already clamouring for great moves that will set the country on the path of global democratic prominence.
I believe when we have enough signatures to stop this seemingly corrupt practice by the Nigerian government, we may avoid a major political turmoil that may destabilize the West African state and Africa as a continent.
