Start calling funerals 'post-death parties'
The Issue
Funerals have gotten a bad rep throughout the years, this is the 21st century and the new generation deserves a new, hip name for mourning their loved ones. By dictionary definition a party is 'a social gathering of invited guests, typically involving eating, drinking, and entertainment' and a funeral is 'the ceremonies honoring a dead person, typically involving burial or cremation'. When we combine the two we get a social gathering of invited guests honoring a dead person, a celebration of their life. Isn't this what we want: to celebrate one's life after death? Why don't we get a name fitting for this ceremony with so much meaning?
Listen up planet Earth, it's time to stand up and spread this very important cause!
